I've played over 400 courses. A few years ago I followed the story of PAG pro Jeff Julians cancer challenges. A lot of talk was about the course he had designed in a very small town in NH. I drove up there a few summers ago, and was amazed at the topography, course conditions, and creativity. I was even more amazed that on a perfect sunny summer day, there was hardly anyone there. I made a mental note to definitely get back here someday to play it.
That day was yesterday, and we weren't disappointed. The creativity and hole routings were amazing. On every single hole, you had to think, as opposed to just hit the ball, off every tee. water, sand, undulaating, uphill, downhill, sidehill fairways come into play all the time, along with many ravines and other waste areas. If you like target golf, this is fantastic.
Course conditions were not as I remembered from that summer a few years ago, a combination of not fully green yet in the mountains, fairways real thin, looks like not a lot of maintenace going into it now as it's being renovated next year.
One other thing was the same. there were only about 12 other golfers on the course. Unbelievable, and it was only $29, which included the cart. More than worth the 40 minute drive to get there.
